A new riff on an old tradition in Chile This hot sauce is based on the traditional fresh Chilean salsa called “pebre,” which is made with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and the merkén pepper. It goes with everything. Seriously, everything. Try it with fresh bread, on barbequed meat, or with empanadas. The merkén pepper is a smoked pepper (cacho de cabra), traditionally used in Mapuche cuisine. The Mapuche are the largest Indigenous group in Chile.
Ingredients: White Vinegar, Onion, Tomato, Red Wine Vinegar, Merkén Chili Pepper, Jalapeño Pepper, Cilantro, Garlic, Salt, Sugar, Xanthan Gum.
